Halloween 2012

We love doing a family theme when it comes to our Halloween costumes. We usually like to come up with something unique. This year, we decided to go with the characters from one of our favorite children's book series. Mo Willems is the author and three of the characters include an elephant, a pig and a pigeon.
We completely procrastinated making our costumes until the night before Halloween. I'm so grateful for Navin. Once I finished my feathers, I was kind of over it. He stayed up late and sewed my wings onto my shirt and the fluffy white feathers to finish it off. He also sewed felt onto a headband to make his pig ears. Luckily, we found Addilyn's completely put together so it didn't require any extra work.
This year, Halloween was a lot more exciting because Addi was more aware of what was going on. Surprisingly, she loved wearing her costume. She would twirl around to show people her whole look. It seemed to give her more confidence and she became extremely social. Since she doesn't really eat any candy, we decided to go visit people and show off our costumes. We also went out for some dinner at Tempe Marketplace and then ran around the stores.
The pictures below were taken at my in law's backyard.
Here are a couple of the books.
I loved Navin and Addilyn's little tails.
Our little elephant loved riding the mini quad out in the backyard.

She loved our noses. Whenever she looked at Navin, she would make a pig noise.

 Our little wild elephant.

We hope everyone enjoyed there Halloween!
